My name is GayLynn Thornton I am a mother of two amazing kids and a singer
of songs
I first arrived in Vermont as a student in an outward bound high school
in 1982. In this school we were encouraged and supported in exposing ourselves
and each other to every type of music we could get our ears on.
I remember hitchhiking down mountain road to see every band that came into
town, But the local favs back then for us were pinhead, Kilimanjaro and
of course Big Joe Burrell and the Unknown blues band. One of our many school
field trips was to the Flynn to see BB king where I was lucky enough to
get back stage thank him and shake his hand. I loved those years, I loved
that school and I love that I was exposed to so much music!
WBKM brings me right back to those days. Pouring it on and opening it up,
these guys warm my heart with my old favorites and spark a fresh interest
and ear to some incredible new music, weaving and blending together masterfully
all the positive vibes. With their strong dedication to not bog the listeners
down with radio jargon and their passion for lifting up and connecting the
community through music. When I tune in, I feel like I'm home:) Thank you
Eric, Tony and the rest of the WBKM family!
